Jason was born in Oscoda, Michigan and as a child traveled the world living in foreign countries as a son to an Air Force Service Member. Jason returned to Michigan at the age of 8 and began playing ice hockey. Jason developed a huge passion for the game at a very young age on the ponds and with his club team out of Mt. Clemens, Michigan.
After youth hockey Jason joined the United States Marine Corps and served on active duty for eight years. During that time Jason played hockey for the US Navy Hockey Team.
Jason left active duty in 2006 after 3 combat tours to Iraq and relocated to the Dallas, Texas area where he began working as a police officer. Jason began coaching hockey in the Dallas Stars Youth Hockey League House program in 2014 and continued coaching through 2019.
In 2018 Jason started as an assistant coach with the Lovejoy High School Hockey Team. Jason was then hired as the Head Coach in the 2019-2020 season. During that time he has won a league championship, had an undefeated season, and won the 2022 High School State Championship Division 2B. Coach Day continues to serve both the JV and Varsity teams as Head Coach for the 2023-2024 season.

Jason has a wife, Perla Day, and two sons, Jason Jr and Aiden.
Sky Chambers is a Lovejoy Hockey alumnus who continued his playing career at the University of Arkansas. Drawing on high school and collegiate experience, Sky focuses on skating efficiency, transition play, and building a strong locker room culture.
As an assistant coach, he brings high energy and a teaching-first approach to practices, emphasizing individual skill development, video breakdowns, and special teams execution.
The Lovejoy High School Ice Hockey club is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that participates in the AT&T Metroplex High School Hockey League.
The primary focus of the organization is to allow students to have the opportunity to participate in a sport they love while they grow their skills at the high school level.
